Chopper Helps Straw Hat in New Live-Action One Piece Season 2 Teaser
Netflix has released the best look yet at Tony Tony Chopper in the highly anticipated Season 2 of the live-action One Piece. The reveal came as part of the Jump Festa 2026 event in Japan, offering a special glimpse at the beloved reindeer doctor’s debut.
What happens in new One Piece live-action series teaser?
The new One Piece teaser focuses entirely on the introduction of Chopper, a member of the Straw Hat Pirates. It confirms that the character will be a fully CG-animated creation integrated into the live-action world as the crew ventures into the Drum Island arc. It also introduced the voice star behind Chopper for the English dub, Superman and Guardians of the Galaxy star Mikaela Hoover.
Interestingly, the live-action series teaser also featured the many actors lending their voices to Chopper for the series’ international dubs. This includes a highly anticipated return, as Ikue Otani, the original voice of Chopper from the long-running anime, will reprise her iconic role for the Japanese dub of the live-action series.
As Chopper is fully CG and interacts closely with the core cast, his execution carries high stakes for the series. The teaser suggests that the creative team has focused heavily on balancing realism with the character’s charm, a key factor in maintaining immersion as the story moves forward.
Beyond Chopper’s reveal, the teaser reinforces the broader scope of Season 2. One Piece: Into the Grand Line adapts several arcs from Eiichiro Oda’s manga, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. Netflix has confirmed that the season will run for eight episodes and premiere on March 10.
The core Straw Hats return, with Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Emily Rudd as Nami, and Mackenyu as Zoro. All reprise their roles as series regulars.
Now, Netflix has already placed One Piece Season 3 into production, with plans to tackle the Alabasta saga and expand roles for characters introduced in Season 2, including Chopper.
