Choreographer Remo D’Souza and wife Lizelle D’Souza booked for forgery and cheating; deets here

Renowned Indian choreographer Remo D’Souza who was balancing his personal and business lives, found himself in legal complications water after being implicated in an infidelity case. According to reports, Remo and his wife Lizelle D’Souza have been charged with defrauding a dance ensemble out of Rs 11.96 crore.

According to the news agency PTI, a 26-year-old dancer’s accusation against choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle D’Souza led to legal issues. There are more people named in the case besides them. A complaint has been filed against all of them in Maharashtra’s Thane district for allegedly defrauding a dancing troupe of Rs 11.96 crore, the police said on Saturday.

According to an official cited by PTI, Remo, his wife Lizelle, and five other people were charged with forgery under section 465, cheating under section 420, and other pertinent provisions of the Indian Penal Code on October 16 at the Mira Road police station. The 26-year-old dancer and his group were allegedly defrauded between 2018 and July 2024, according to the FIR. The complainant further pointed out that the dance group had won a reality TV show and performed there, but the accused had reportedly pretended to be the group’s owner and collected the Rs 11.96 crore prize money.

Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, police officer Vinod Raut, and Ramesh Gupta are the other defendants in the case.
