Chris Lynn becomes first ever batsman to achieve ‘This’ milestone in Big Bash League
NEW DELHI: Chris Lynn etched his name deeper into Big Bash League history on Wednesday, adding another landmark to an already remarkable T20 career.
In the match against Brisbane Heat at the Adelaide Oval, Lynn became the first batter in Big Bash League history to cross the 4,000 run mark.
Despite the BBL boasting star names such as David Warner, Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch across seasons, it was Lynn who reached the milestone first, underlining his sustained impact and dominance in Australia’s premier T20 competition.
The historic moment came during a modest chase of 122, where Lynn anchored the Strikers’ innings with a commanding unbeaten 79 off 41 balls. His knock ensured Adelaide cruised to a seven wicket win, while also providing the perfect stage for the landmark to be achieved.
Earlier in the evening, Adelaide’s bowlers had done the damage by dismissing Brisbane Heat for 121, with disciplined spells keeping the visitors in check. That set the tone for Lynn to take control of the chase without pressure, allowing the focus to remain firmly on his personal milestone.
The 4,000 run mark is a reflection of Lynn’s consistency, durability and influence in the BBL. In a league known for its fast turnover of players and short careers, his achievement stands out as a rare and historic feat.
