CID had reached here in connection with the investigation of the same case. During the assembly election campaign, Abhishek Banerjee had said that he would play DJ after the counting of votes on May 4. It is alleged that his comment was of inflammatory nature. CID is investigating this matter.

The residence was raided earlier also

Even before this, CID had reached Abhishek Banerjee’s house several times in connection with the investigation of other cases. In the fake signature case related to the State Assembly, CID had also given notice to him by visiting his residence on Harish Chatterjee Street.

Abhishek’s troubles increased after the elections

Abhishek Banerjee is the Trinamool Congress MP from Diamond Harbour. He has also appeared several times at the CID headquarters at Bhawani Bhawan. In the signature mismatch case, he was interrogated for two days, while in the inflammatory remarks case, he was interrogated for one day.

A few days ago, the police of Shalbani police station had conducted a late night raid in Kalighat in search of Abhishek Banerjee’s executive assistant Sumit Roy. The police had entered the house by breaking the lock. However, Sumit Roy was not found there.
