Police have arrested three people in this case. They are accused of honeytraping the cricketer and extorting money by blackmailing him. According to the police, all three were arrested late Saturday night. Police have not released the cricketer's name to protect his reputation. The arrested people have been identified as Rishav Chanda, Shubhonkar Biswas and Shiv Singh.

The main suspect is absconding
According to the information received from the police, the mastermind of the honey trapping racket is absconding. The police is searching for him. The police have not revealed the identity of the absconding accused. At the end of October Cricket went to Kolkata to play a match. He was arranged to stay in a posh hotel in the Salt Lake area. It was here that he came in contact with the accused through a dating app.

On November 1, the cricketer met the four accused at a bus stop in Baguati area. Here the accused showed the cricketer some pictures of girls and asked the cricketer to choose one of them. The cricketer chose the photo of a girl from the pictures. After this the accused made the cricketer meet the girl. The cricketer spent time with the girl in a hotel. During this time his video was secretly recorded.

Cricketer gave money to save his honor
After a few days, all four accused reached the victim and showed her the video. After this he demanded a huge amount. To save her honour, the victim immediately transferred Rs 60,000 through net banking to the bank account specified by the accused. Along with this, the cricketer also gave his gold chain and expensive mobile phone to the accused.

After this he started blackmailing the victim for more money. The cricketer finally contacted the Baguati police station on November 2 and informed about the incident. Based on the information received from the cricketer, the police started investigation and three accused were arrested on Saturday.
