Tata Nexon iCNG launched with 24km mileage and new turbocharged engine, know everything from its price to features

Car News Desk – Tata Motors on Tuesday, September 24, launched India's first turbocharged CNG passenger vehicle Nexon iCNG. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 8.99 lakh. According to India Today report, with the launch of the iCNG version, Tata Nexon is now available in petrol, diesel, CNG and electric. Tata Nexon iCNG competes with Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG. Tata Nexon iCNG uses a 1.2-liter turbo bi-fuel (petrol and CNG) engine, which gives a maximum power of 100PS and a peak torque of 170Nm. As of now, only manual transmission is available in it. However, in future, the option of automatic can also be available in this vehicle.

The Tata Nexon iCNG has a direct start and a single ECU in CNG mode, which enables automatic switching between petrol and CNG. The vehicle has a 60-litre CNG tank, while the mileage is claimed to be 24km/kg. The Tata Nexon iCNG comes with features like a panoramic sunroof, leatherette ventilated seats and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. With its twin-cylinder technology, the vehicle gets a segment-leading boot space of 321 litres. The Tata Nexon is a 5-star safety-rated vehicle. It comes with advanced features including technologies like leak detection, fire protection device, thermal incident protection and rear impact protection.

Launched in India in 2017, the Tata Nexon crossed the 700,000 unit sales mark in June this year, reports India Today. The Tata Nexon has been the best-selling SUV in India in the last three financial years, outselling the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Mahindra Scorpio. It sold 1,71,697 units in FY24, 1,72,139 units in FY23 and 1,24,130 units in FY22.
