Speaking to PTI, Shiv Kumar, pitch curator of Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, said that the pitch will be ideal in the second and final Test match of the series. Which will help the fast bowlers in the first two days. At the same time, this pitch will remain in the possession of spinners for the last three days. Shiv Kumar further said that this match will look like a Chennai match. Where, everyone will get some help from the pitch. There will be good bounce on the pitch in the first two innings, which will make batting easier.

This pitch made of black soil of Kanpur always helps spin bowlers. Whereas in the first match played at Chepauk ground in Chennai, both the teams played on red clay pitch.

An Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) official told PTI that the soil from which the pitch was made has been tested by the Indian Institute of Technology. This soil is very special which is brought from the village pond. The pitch of Green Park Stadium has been made from the same soil for many years. This time also the same soil has been used to prepare the pitch.
