Rishabh Pant rejected the news of joining RCB

New Delhi, September 26 (IANS). Indian wicketkeeper and Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant dismissed the news of his joining Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the IPL mega auction.

The wicketkeeper batsman targeted a user for spreading fake news. According to the user, Pant had reportedly approached RCB looking for leadership opportunities in the franchise ahead of IPL 2025.

A social media user on Twitter claimed that Pant's manager had contacted RCB earlier this week, but RCB did not show interest.

The post further said, “Virat does not want Pant in RCB because of his political strategy in the Indian team as well as in DC.”

Earlier this year, Pant returned to competitive cricket in the IPL 2024 season after recovering from a near-fatal road accident and a long break.

The 26-year-old aggressive batsman has played only for Delhi Capitals in the IPL since making his debut in the 2016 season. He has played 111 matches for the franchise. He has a total of 3,284 IPL runs to his name including 18 half-centuries and one century. He was appointed the captain of the team before IPL 2021.
