To know the benefits of this beneficial pumpkin, IANS spoke to nutritionist Dr. Kanika Sachdev.

Talking about the properties of pumpkin, the nutritionist said, “Pumpkin is also known by the names Kumhada, Kushmand, Valliphal, Kashiphal, Sitaphal, Ramkohla and Petha.” It contains many nutrients like vitamins A, E and C, omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, zinc, selenium, iron and beta-carotene. Vitamin A is essential for our eyes and our screen. The Vitamin C present in it increases our immunity.

He further said, “Pumpkin seeds are also very beneficial in themselves. These work better on your sleep. This helps in maintaining good mood. Pumpkin seeds are also very beneficial for women going through menopause. ,

He said, “Pumpkin is rich in fiber, which helps in maintaining our weight. Along with this, it also helps in maintaining normal blood sugar. Due to its properties, it also reduces the risk of heart disease. Along with this, pumpkin juice also helps a lot in reducing weight.

Nutritionist Dr. Kanika Sachdev said that pumpkin is so beneficial in itself that apart from being used as a vegetable, it can also be consumed in many other ways. Pumpkin smoothie and its pudding are not only beneficial for health but are also very tasty to eat.

Apart from this, it is also used in worship. It is also very useful in Halloween which is celebrated every year on 31st October in countries like Europe and America. Through this, people make different scary figures.
