Travel tension free during Diwali, Durga Puja, Chhath Puja, 26 special trains will run on these routes.

Utility News Desk!!! The festive season has started in India. Along with this, Railways has made strict arrangements to control the crowd of passengers in the train. There is a proposal to run 10,000 special trains during the festive season. In this connection, North Eastern Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to run 26 special trains in the next two months. This information was given in a statement issued on Sunday. “NFR has proposed to run 26 special trains with 254 journeys for the festival season this year,” the statement said.

According to North East Frontier Railway, 13 pairs of special trains will provide comfortable travel experience to passengers and facilitate additional passengers during the festivals of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja from October 1 to November 30. Compared to last year, NFR has almost doubled the number of special trains and journeys during the festive period. Let us tell you that this year Durga Puja festival will start from 9th October, Diwali will be celebrated on 31st October while Chhath Puja is on 7th and 8th November.

During the festivals, the trains will cover important places like Amritsar, Bengaluru, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Kolkata, Anand Vihar and Sri Ganganagar besides passing through other destinations. Additionally, these special trains will also boost connectivity to areas like Agartala, Naharlagun, Silchar, New Tinsukia, Dibrugarh and Katihar within the zone during this period. It is noteworthy that many railway lines going to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are especially crowded during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath festivals.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had earlier told the media that a total of 5,975 special trains have been notified for the festive season this year, while last year the number was 4,429. He said, “This will facilitate more than one crore pilgrims to go home during the puja.”
