Impact player rule: BCCI suddenly took such a big decision, impact player rule was removed

Cricket News Desk. In the last season of IPL, the Impact Player rule was in a lot of controversies. Many big players gave statements against this rule. However, this rule will continue in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League as well. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a big decision. BCCI has decided to remove the impact player rule from domestic tournaments. Let us tell you that, this is the same tournament from where BCCI started the Impact Player rule.

BCCI has removed the impact player rule
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has removed the Impact Player rule from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Syed Mushtaq Ali is going to start from 23rd November and will run till 15th December. BCCI has confirmed the decision on the affected player rule in a message sent to the state associations. BCCI said, 'Please note that BCCI has decided to abolish the Impact Player provision for the current season.'

This rule started with Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
The Impact Player rule was used for the first time in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After this his entry took place in IPL 2023. Under this rule, any one player can be dropped from the playing-11 during the match and a new player can be brought in his place. This means that a team can use 12 players. According to the Impact Player rule, after the toss, both teams have to name an impact player in addition to their playing XI, one of whom they wish to use as the impact player. This player can join the playing 11 in place of any player at any time in the match.

Due to this rule, many high scoring matches have taken place in IPL, but this rule does not fit all-rounders at all. The team gives priority to specialist batsmen and bowlers more than all-rounders. Due to which many all-rounders raised their voice against this rule. However, this rule will still continue in IPL.
