Cricket News Desk. Bangladesh Cricket Board has suspended the head coach of the men's team. Former Sri Lankan all-rounder Chandika Hathurusingha was appointed as the head coach. Recently Bangladesh had to clean sweep the Test and T20 series against India. The team could not compete with India in any match. But before that Bangladesh had toured Pakistan and won a historic test series.

Hathurusingha player slapped
Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha has not been sacked due to poor performance on India tour. Instead, he has been suspended for abusing a player during the ODI World Cup in India. The BCB has investigated a player's allegation that his coach slapped him during last year's World Cup. Hathurusingha's contract was till the Champions Trophy in 2025.

Phil Simmons got the responsibility
BCB has decided to include former West Indies player Phil Simmons in the team in place of Chandika Hathurusingha. He will remain in this position till the Champions Trophy next year. According to ESPNcricinfo, 'Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha has been suspended after allegations of slapping a player during last year's ODI World Cup. His contract will expire 48 hours after the suspension. Phil Simmons will take charge till the Champions Trophy next year.

Test series will be played from South Africa
The next challenge against Bangladesh is South Africa. The test series between the two teams will start from October 21. The first match of the two-match series will be played in Dhaka and the second in Chittogram. After this, Bangladesh has to play an ODI series against Afghanistan in UAE. The three-match ODI series will be played from 6 to 11 November.
