Material:

  • Gram flour (chickpea flour) – 1 cup
  • Green Coriander – 1-2 teaspoons (chopped)
  • Green chilli – 1 (chopped)
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece (grated)
  • Cumin – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • Water – 1/2 cup (as required)
  • Oil – 1-2 spoons (for frying)

  1. Prepare gram flour batter:
    Put gram flour in a vessel and add turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin, green chilli, ginger and salt. Then slowly add water and prepare a thick batter. Beat the solution well so that there are no lumps in it.

  2. Add coriander:
    Now add chopped coriander to it and mix.

  3. Heat the pan:
    Heat a tawa or non-stick pan on medium flame and add some oil to it. When the oil is hot, spoon the chilla mixture onto the pan and spread it in a round shape.

  4. Cook:
    Let the chilla cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, until it turns golden and crispy. Then turn it over and cook the other side also until it turns golden.

  1. Serve:
    Take out the prepared chilla in a plate and serve it hot with green chutney or tomato chutney.
