Ishaan is all set to make a comeback in the Indian team, may get a place in the India A team for the Australia tour.

Cricket News Desk. Indian wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan is all set to return to the team and may get a place in the India A team for the Australia tour. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had dropped Ishan from the central contract for not giving priority to domestic cricket, but now there are reports that Ishan can make a place in the team for the Australia tour.

Ishan was part of the Indian team for the South Africa tour after the ODI World Cup last year, but he took a break in the middle of the series. However, BCCI is not happy with his decision. Before IPL 2024, Ishan had also participated in domestic tournaments due to which BCCI had dropped him from the central contract. Since then Ishan has not been able to return to the Indian team. The then head coach Rahul Dravid had said that whenever Ishaan returns to the Indian team, he will have to play in the domestic tournament.

According to the report of news agency PTI, Ishaan, who is captaining Jharkhand in the current season of Ranji Trophy, can take part in two four-day Tests against Australia A and an intra-squad match with the senior team. The first Test between the A teams of India and Australia will be played from 31 October to 3 November, while the second Test will be played from 7 to 10 November. BCCI has not yet announced the team for this, but it is believed that either Ruturaj Gaikwad or Abhimanyu Easwaran can lead the India A team on this tour. Abhimanyu has scored four centuries in his last four first-class matches and can be considered as a backup opener on the Australia tour. It is believed that captain Rohit Sharma may miss one of the first two matches of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia late next month due to personal reasons.

India A's probable team for Australia tour:
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Devdutt Padikkal, Sai Sudarshan, B Inderjit, Abhishek Porel (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Mukesh Kumar, Ricky Bhui, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Manav Suthar, Navdeep Saini, Khalil Ahmed, Tanush Kotian, Yash Dayal.
