'Play in Pakistan and on the same day…', PCB gave this suggestion to BCCI, know what is the matter after all

Cricket News Desk. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has contacted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) amid the ongoing uncertainty over the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next year. It is believed that due to security reasons India will not go to Pakistan for this tournament. However, nothing has been said officially about this yet by BCCI. The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9 in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi.

It is being said that amid all these discussions, PCB has talked to BCCI and given a suggestion. PCB says that if India does not want to stay in Pakistan then it can return to New Delhi or Chandigarh between matches. It is known that PCB has already made it clear that it is not in favor of taking the tournament out of the country. However, he knows that India may refuse to go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.

According to news agency PTI, the PCB has verbally suggested to the BCCI that the Indian team can camp in New Delhi or Chandigarh or Mohali for its matches and fly to Lahore using a special flight. However, a PCB source confirmed that the board has not given any written suggestion to the BCCI. The source said, yes, it is true that these options have been discussed verbally to ensure that India plays its matches in Pakistan so that it can ease the logistics should there be no problem there. However, PCB says that the final of the Champions Trophy will be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. There was also talk that if India reaches the final of the tournament, the title match could be held somewhere else, but the PCB has clearly denied any such possibility.

BCCI may demand hybrid model
BCCI may request ICC to host the Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka or Dubai instead of Pakistan. Last year, before the ODI World Cup, the Asia Cup was organized under the hybrid model in which India played all its matches in Sri Lanka. Thus Sri Lanka hosted nine Asia Cup matches, while Pakistan could host only four.
