Method: In a deep bottomed pan, add khoya, cocoa powder, sugar, finely chopped almonds and butter and mix. Cook on medium flame while mixing well. On turning on the gas, this material will gradually become liquid. Now add vanilla essence to it, mix it and keep cooking while mixing the ingredients. When the ingredients thicken and start gathering at one place in the pan, turn off the gas. Remove all the ingredients in a plate to cool. When the prepared material becomes cool enough that you can hold it in your hand, cut 11 to 12 balls of equal size from it. Apply ghee on the palms and shape the prepared dough into a peda. Place almond pieces on top of all the chocolate pedas and press gently. Line a plate with baking sheet or buttered paper. Place peda on it and keep it in the fridge for half an hour before serving.
