To spread awareness about this, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi discussed it in his 115th Mann Ki Baat program and informed people about this scam. PM Modi showed the video and audio of a call made by a fraudster to a victim in the digital arrest scam and then explained about the scam. PM Modi also told the people the mantra to avoid this scam – stop, think and act. The PM told how people can avoid such new frauds and also take action against it.

PM Modi told the truth about digital arrest
Discussing this in the Mann Ki Baat program, PM Modi said, “Fraudsters calling to do digital arrest scam often call by pretending to be big officials (fake) like Police, CBI, Narcotics, RBI etc. All these fake officials talk with great confidence.” The PM said, “The first trick of such fraudsters is to know your 'personal information'. They already collect complete information about you, like – you went to Goa last month, your daughter studies in Delhi etc.”

The PM said, “The second trick of such fraudsters is to create an 'atmosphere of fear' in the mind of the victim. For this, they will scare you so much over the phone through fake uniform, setup of government office, legal sections etc. that you will not think anything. “You just won't be able to.” PM Modi further said, “The third trick of such fraudsters is to put 'time pressure'. They say that you have to decide now, otherwise we will have to arrest you. He told that, these people have such psychological pressure on the victim. “We put pressure on him so much that he gets scared.” PM Narendra Modi further said, “The victims of digital arrest include people of every age and every class. Due to such fear, many people have lost lakhs of rupees earned by their hard work.”

PM told how to avoid digital arrest scam
Explaining how to protect yourself from this scam, PM Modi said, “If you ever get such a call, you should not be afraid. You should know that no investigating agency will ever conduct such inquiries over phone call or video call. PM said, “You can avoid such fraud people and also complain about them, stop, think and take action.” The PM said that whenever you get such a call, you do not need to be afraid. You have to pause, think carefully and then take action.

The PM said that if possible, “you should make a video or audio recording of such a call. After this, call the National Cyber ​​Helpline 1930 or report it on cybercrime.gov.in and inform your family and the police about it.” In the end, PM Modi once again said clearly in his Mann Ki Baat program that there is no such system as digital arrest, it is just a fraud.
