Apple launches Mac Mini, half the size and more powerful than the previous model, know the price and features
Tech News Desk – Apple has launched Mac Mini equipped with M4 chip in India. It comes with an extremely compact design and the company claims that the new Mac Mini is less than half the size of the previous generation model. The Mac Mini is available with a standard M4 chip, which has a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU. Apart from this, the company has also launched a model equipped with the new M4 Pro chip, which the company claims has a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU. Both models are capable of running Apple's suite of artificial intelligence features, called Apple Intelligence. Additionally, Apple has also launched new Mac accessories with USB-C, including new Magic Keyboard models, Magic Trackpad, Magic Mouse, and Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable.
Price and offers of different models
The new Mac mini models with M4 and M4 Pro chips are available for pre-order in India and will be available in stores from November 8. The price of Mac mini with M4 chip in India is Rs 59,900 while the price of Mac mini with M4 Pro chip is Rs 1,49,900. After educational discount, their prices become Rs 49,900 and Rs 1,39,900 respectively. Apart from this, the price of Magic Keyboard is Rs 9,500, the price of Magic Keyboard with Touch ID is Rs 14,500, the price of Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad is Rs 17,500, the price of Magic Trackpad is Rs 12,500, the price of Magic Mouse is Rs 7,500 and the price of Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable. Its price is Rs 6,900.
What is special in Mac Mini M4
The size of the Mac Mini 2024 is less than half that of the previous generation model. Its size is 5×5 inches. Apple said this compact design is made possible due to the power efficiency of Apple Silicon and a new thermal architecture for heat dissipation. The new Mac mini is also the first carbon-neutral Mac, built with more than 50 percent recycled content, including 100 percent recycled aluminum. The company claims that the M4 chip offers 1.8 times more processing power and twice the graphics performance compared to the older M1 model. For those who need high performance, the M4 Pro chip delivers even faster speeds and additional processing power, perfect for demanding tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and other professional workloads.
In terms of performance, the Mac mini with M4 has a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and now comes with a minimum of 16GB of integrated memory. The Mac mini with M4 Pro has a CPU with up to 14 cores, including 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores, as well as a more powerful GPU with up to 20 cores. Additionally, the M4 Pro supports Thunderbolt 5, which delivers data transfer speeds of up to 120 Gb/s on the Mac mini, which is twice the throughput of Thunderbolt 4.
The new Mac mini includes several connectivity ports. The ports are front-facing for easy access. There are two USB-C ports that support USB 3 and there is also an audio jack on the front. On the back, the Mac mini with M4 has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the Mac mini with M4 Pro has three Thunderbolt 5 ports. The new Mac mini also comes with Gigabit Ethernet, which can be configured up to 10Gb Ethernet for faster networking speeds, and an HDMI port for easily connecting to a TV or HDMI display. The M4 powered Mac mini can support two 6K displays and one 5K display, while the M4 Pro powered Mac mini can support three 6K displays at 60Hz.
