This vegetable growing under the ground is considered a symbol of luck and happiness and prosperity. It is believed that after the Suran tree is uprooted, its tree starts growing again and bears fruits. In the same way, wealth remains in the house and progress comes. The specialty of Jimikand is that its tree does not spoil quickly and bears fruit again and again. Suran vegetable can also be offered to Goddess Lakshmi. So, if you want to make Suran and eat it on Diwali then make a delicious and spicy Chokha, note down the simple recipe.

Ingredients for making Suran Chokha
250 grams suran or ol

two green chillies

4-5 garlic cloves

finely chopped coriander leaves

lemon juice

a spoonful of parsley

mustard oil

salt as per taste

Recipe to make Suran Chokha
-Suran or Ol's Chokha is ready in minutes. Besides, its taste is also excellent.

-To make chokha, first cut the suran or ol into four to five pieces.

-Then wash thoroughly so that the soil on top is cleaned. Because it comes from underground, it contains a lot of soil.

-Make sure to apply oil on your hands while cutting suran. Otherwise, some people start complaining of itching.

-Now put these chopped garlic in the cooker and add some water and boil it.

-When it boils, remove the lid of the cooker and let the suran cool. But remove the peel only with lukewarm water, otherwise the peel will stick and will not come off easily.

-Now take an iron pan, if you do not have an iron pan then take any steel or aluminum pan and add mustard oil.

-Suran Chokha should be made in mustard oil only, only then it gets full taste.

-When the oil becomes hot, add carom seeds to it. Finely chop the garlic.

-Then add garlic along with sprinkling of parsley and then add finely chopped green chillies.

-Also peel the suran, mash it and put it in the pan.

-Add salt and mix well and fry on high flame. So that the fragrance becomes fragrant.

-Now turn off the gas flame and add lemon juice and finely chopped coriander leaves and mix. Tasty Suran ka Chokha is ready. Be sure to feed this to your family members on Diwali.
