Hardik Pandya will remain the captain of Mumbai Indians
Mumbai, November 1 (IANS). Both Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma looked very happy after being retained by Mumbai Indians. Despite all the criticism from the previous season, Hardik was retained and will remain the captain of the team. Hardik said that last year was very turbulent for him but this year has been great for him. He has received a lot of love back, which he is overwhelmed with.
Hardik said, “It has been wonderful. I have got a lot of love back. This is my world. I have always mentioned that my journey started from here. Whatever I have achieved in my life is because of Mumbai Indians. “Every year is a special year and this is going to be an even more special year.”

Rohit, who led the Indian team to win the T20 World Cup this year after losing the captaincy of Mumbai Indians last year, is also happy to be associated with this franchise. He believes that he started his cricket from this city and he will be happy playing cricket in this city in the last years of his career.
Rohit said, “I have played a lot of cricket in Mumbai, that's where I started my cricket career. This city is very, very special to me. Obviously, when you play for so long, you Making a lot of memories with the team, we haven't had the best season in the last two or three years, but we are fully committed to turning that around.”

Apart from Hardik and Rohit, Mumbai has retained Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma. Mumbai has retained Bumrah the most for Rs 18 crore, Suryakumar for Rs 16.35 crore, Hardik for Rs 16.35 crore, Rohit for Rs 16.30 crore and Tilak for Rs 8 crore, while big names like Ishan Kishan and Tim David are missing from Mumbai's retention list. Mumbai will have the option of a right to match card in the big auction. Mumbai has a purse of Rs 55 crore left in the auction.
