Before launch, Honda launched exciting teaser of Activa Electric scooter, know what special will be available with 100KM range
Auto News Desk – Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has now started teasing its upcoming electric scooter vigorously. After releasing its first teaser recently, the company has now shown the electric motor setup of the e-scooter. It appears to be a swingarm-mounted unit, which seems to be the brand's affordable approach compared to the mid-drive Permanent Magnetic Synchronous (PMS) motor setup present in some of the premium electric scooters in the market. However, many expensive e-scooters are still using BLDC hubs. This e-scooter has been confirmed to be launched on November 27, possibly under the name Honda Activa Electric. There are speculations that it will adopt a modern design language.
Honda released another teaser of its first electric scooter in India Currently, the brand e-scooter comes with three setups, which include swingarm-mounted motor, BLDC hub, and Permanent Magnetic Synchronous setup. Swingarm mounting is considered space saving and lightweight and does not require a gearbox, thereby reducing mechanical losses. At the same time, due to less moving parts, this setup is considered easy to maintain. On the other hand, the PMS motor offers high efficiency, resulting in longer battery life.
This setup is capable of delivering high torque even at low RPM. However, it seems that Honda is looking to take a mid-performance approach with its upcoming e-scooter. It is possible that the company may keep it family-centric like Ather Rizta. The teaser also shows a glimpse of the LED headlamp and seat on the new electric scooter. There is no official information about the specifications yet, but considering the competition, we expect the upcoming Honda electric scooter to also get a digital instrument console equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, which will be equipped with features like calling, navigation, music control, etc. will be.
Apart from this, we hope that it will also get a bigger battery pack and fast charging. Looking at the CUV e, the company's electric scooter model introduced for the global market, the Activa Electric is likely to get a range of 100 km, which means it could be fitted with a battery pack of around 3-4 kWh.
