Box Office News Desk – These days there is a huge competition going on at the box office. On one hand, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' and 'Singham Again' are competing with each other. On the other hand, South superstar Surya's film 'Kangua' was released on 14th November, to compete with which Vikrant Massey brought his film 'The Sabarmati Report' on 15th November. A lot of craze is being seen among the audience regarding both the films. News also came that Vikrant Massey's film got a standing ovation on the first day. Let us know who dominated the box office?
Kangua's condition worsened on the second day
South superstar Surya's film 'Kangua' was released in theaters on 14 November. Bobby Deol and Disha Patani also play important roles in the film. The film created a lot of buzz on the opening day but on the second day of its release, the condition of Surya's film seemed to be deteriorating. Obviously, it was expected that 'Kangua' would break many records as soon as it was released, but according to the report of Sacknilk, the film earned only Rs 24 crore on the opening day. The film's earning was only Rs 9 crore on the second day of release. Including the figures of both the days, the total earning of the film was Rs 33 crore.
The Sabarmati Report
Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra's film 'The Sabarmati Report' was embroiled in controversies even before its release. People were excited to watch this film based on Godhra incident of Gujarat. When the film was released on 15 November, the audience stood on their seats in the theaters and gave the film a standing ovation, a video of which also went viral, but in terms of earnings, the film disappointed on the very first day. According to SACNL report, Vikrant Massey's 'The Sabarmati Report' opened with Rs 1.15 crore on the first day. This is not a good start in terms of opening day but the film may get benefit on the weekend.
Overall, Surya and Bobby Deol starrer film 'Kangua' is ahead of 'The Sabarmati Report' in terms of earnings. However, this is not surprising. The speed with which the film sold tickets in advance ticket booking was not seen in the earnings of 'Kangua'. Now it will be interesting to see what wonders both the films can perform on the weekend.
