Cricket News Desk. The hosts of the IPL 2025 mega auction to be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25 have been announced. Mallika Sagar, the host of the last IPL auction held in Dubai, will be seen auctioning the players in the mega auction this time too. Mallika has also conducted the Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. They appointed Hugh Adams as the auctioneer for the IPL 2024 auction.
Good auction host experience
Mallika has over two decades of experience as an auctioneer. She was in the same role in the last IPL season and also became the first woman to auction a player in the IPL. Let us tell you that earlier the IPL auction was hosted only by men. Experienced hosts like Richard Madeley, Hugh Adams and Charu Sharma have hosted the IPL auction.
Career started in 2001
Mallika began her career at Christie's in 2001 after graduating from Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia with a degree in Art History. She became the first female auctioneer of Indian origin. Prior to her experience in the WPL and IPL, Mallika bid for the eighth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
Bidding will be held for 574 players
The Tata IPL player auction list has been released, which includes a total of 574 players who will participate in the mega auction to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25, 2024. Of the 574 players, 366 are Indians and 208 are foreigners, including players from three associate countries. 318 Indian uncapped players and 12 uncapped foreign players will be included in the auction.
204 slots will be up for grabs, of which 70 will be available to foreign players. The highest base price is Rs 2 crore for 81 players. This two-day mega auction will start at 3.30 pm Indian time.
