We have brought one such delicious and nutritious idli recipe for you. This idli is rava (semolina) idli. You can make this idli in a very short time and serve it to your family members for breakfast. Children will also definitely like this dish. Its specialty is that it is prepared by adding tempering to its batter. So let us know the recipe of making Rava Idli.
- Semolina or Semolina – 1 cup
- Curd- half cup
- Water – half cup
- Mustard – half teaspoon
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Cumin – half teaspoon
- Curry leaves-3-4
- Green chilli – 1 finely chopped
- Gram dal – 1 tablespoon
- Asafoetida – a pinch
- Ginger- one spoon finely chopped
- Carrot – 2 tbsp finely chopped
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1/4 tsp
- Salt – as per taste
- Eno Fruit Salt- 1 tsp
- First of all, add Ravo or Ravo in a bowl. Add curd and water to it and mix well.
- Keep it covered for 5 minutes so that the semolina absorbs water and swells.
- Now place a pan on the gas stove. Add 1 tablespoon oil in it.
- Now add mustard, cumin, curry leaves, chopped chilli, ginger, carrot, gram dal and fry for half a minute.
- Then add asafoetida, turmeric and chilli powder and fry for a few seconds.
- This tadka rava is ready to be added to idli batter. Add this to the batter and mix well.
- Now add eno fruit salt and salt as per taste to the rava solution and mix well.
- To make Rava Idli, you can use microwave idli mold or steel idli mold.
- If you do not have both of these, you can also use a small bowl.
- Apply oil thoroughly before adding idli batter. This idli will be cooked in steel mold in 15 minutes.
- But if you are making it in the oven then it will take only 2 minutes
- Pour the batter into microwave idli mold and cook in the oven
- You can enjoy it as a hot breakfast with tomato sauce, green chutney or coconut chutney.
- Add matcha oil and spread it well.
- When it becomes hot, add one spoon of chilli pudding in it and spread it well in a round shape in the pan.
- Turn and cook from both the sides. When it turns golden brown, remove it from the flame and serve hot with tomato chutney, mint or coriander chutney.
