Electric vehicles can play an important role in tackling the problem of pollution. Therefore, the Central and State Governments are also making efforts at their level to promote the purchase of electric vehicles (EV Sale). Now Telangana government has also made a big announcement regarding electric vehicles. The Telangana government has announced 100 percent waiver on road tax and registration fees for all electric vehicles (EVs) in the state.

The policy will promote energy efficiency
This move by the Telangana government through the new EV policy aims to encourage the people of the state to adopt eco-friendly transportation. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar recently said the policy is in line with the state's goals of promoting environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. He also highlighted plans to expand EV infrastructure, including setting up more charging stations and providing incentives to manufacturers.

road tax exemption
Electric buses registered in Telangana till December 31, 2026, will get lifetime exemption from road tax and registration fees. However, these buses should be operated by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. Additionally, buses used for employee transportation will also be eligible for similar benefits provided they are not being used for commercial purposes. This initiative of the state government is expected to give a big boost to EV purchases in Telangana. This move will make clean energy transportation more accessible and affordable.
