Seeing the matter escalating, Saira Banu's lawyer Vandana Shah broke her silence and said that the divorce of AR Rahman and Saira Banu has nothing to do with the divorce of Mohini Dey. 'Saira and AR Rahman have taken this decision themselves.' Advocate Vandana Shah said, 'Every long-lasting marriage goes through ups and downs and something similar had happened with them. I am very happy that if it has ended then it has happened in a dignified manner. Both Rehman and Saira will continue to support each other and wish each other well.
Vandana Shah refused to tell the reason behind Rehman and Saira's divorce. He said that 'both of them are honest and both of them must have taken this decision after careful consideration. You wouldn't call it a sham marriage. She also clarified that their divorce is by mutual consent and the financial aspect has not been discussed yet.
AR Rahman and Saira Banu have three children. Two daughters, Khatija and Raheema, and a son named Ameen Rehman. His children are also with him in this decision and respect his decision.
