It is made differently at both the places. Poha found in Madhya Pradesh is sweet and sour in taste. People like to eat it by adding mixture or bhujia on it. This is a dish which can also be given to children in school tiffin. The good thing is that poha is ready instantly. Although in Madhya Pradesh it is prepared by steaming, but here we are telling a quick recipe.
Material
To make sweet and sour poha, you need- poha, onion, tomato, potato, peanuts, green chilli, curry leaves, green coriander, lemon, mustard, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, sugar and chaat masala.
how to make
To make sweet and sour poha, first take the poha out in a sieve and wash and wet it. Keep it aside and let the water drain properly. When the water drains, add salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder to it. Mix it well with hands. Keep in mind that Poha should neither be pressed nor mashed. Mix it with light hands. – After mixing, add sugar in it. Mix this also well. Now chop all the vegetables finely. Do not keep the potato pieces too big or thin. – After all the cutting is done, heat oil in a pan and fry the potatoes and moong pods separately in it. Keep it aside. Then reduce the oil in the pan and add mustard seeds in it. – After crackling, add green chillies and curry leaves. Add onion and let it cook for a few seconds until brown. Then add tomatoes in it. When it melts well, add poha to it and mix well. – Let it cook for 1-2 minutes. Then add chaat masala, lemon and green coriander and mix. Serve hot poha with salt.
