Material

  • Green apple- 1 (medium size)
  • Cumin- 1 tsp
  • Green chilli- 2
  • Tamarind paste- 2 spoons
  • Garlic cloves- 4 to 5
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Mint leaves- 2 to 3
  • Lemon juice- 1 teaspoon
  • Green coriander chopped – 1 small bowl
  • Water- 3 spoons

  • Apples of Kashmir are famous all over the world. There people prepare many types of dishes with the help of apples.
  • Apple chutney is eaten with great enthusiasm in Kashmir.
  • To make this, heat oil in a pan and add cumin, fennel, mustard and dry red chilli.
  • Then add chopped apples to it and cook until soft.
  • Now add turmeric powder, sugar or jaggery and salt to it and cook for a few minutes.
  • Now cool it and blend it.
  • This chutney is prepared with the help of dried apricots.
  • For this, first of all dried apricots are soaked in water for a few hours.
  • After this, its paste is prepared by filtering the water.
  • Then put the paste in a saucepan, add sugar, ginger powder, fennel, cinnamon powder and salt and cook on low flame while stirring continuously.
  • It is then cooled and served with food.
