Let us tell you that this incident took place between June 2022 and July 2023, in which these two persons used multiple stolen or lost ATM cards to withdraw money from the SBI ATM on Padmvilas Road. For this he used a technique. After withdrawing the cash, they would leave a note in the cash delivery box of the machine. Due to this, the ATM transaction remains incomplete and money is not deducted from the bank due to timeout error. However, it is not known how the thieves were able to withdraw money without knowing the ATM PIN. For this reason, no ATM scam was reported as money was not deducted from any customer's account. But there was a difference between the money deposited in the ATM machine and the amount withdrawn from the customer's account.

How the vicious thieves were caught
This scam came to light when a difference was found between the total amount deposited in the ATM and the amount withdrawn. A committee of the bank initially investigated this difference, but its reason could not be found. As no evidence or clues were found, the committee also expressed suspicion on the bank employees.

However, later when the investigation team examined the CCTV footage, two suspects were identified and it was found that they had used several stolen cards. The footage showed that both of them frequented the machine and he recognized that they had used several stolen or lost ATM cards. After this, SBI officials lodged a report with the Fort Police and also shared the photographs of the suspects.
