Pollution is dangerous for pregnant women, increase immunity and go out wearing a mask.

New Delhi, November 28 (IANS). A woman goes through many changes during pregnancy. This is also a sensitive time, hence it is important to take special care. The increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR can also prove dangerous for the pregnant woman and the baby in her womb.

This layer of smog spread all around can be very harmful for the pregnant woman and her child in the womb.

IANS had a special conversation with Dr. Meera Pathak, senior medical officer and gynecology specialist at CHC Bhangel, Noida, about what a pregnant woman should do to avoid such serious pollution.

He said, “Rapidly increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR can create problems for pregnant women. In such a situation, if women come in contact with this dangerous pollution, then there is a high risk of infection in them. They may have to face many types of problems. This can pose a danger to both mother and child. Along with difficulty in breathing, many other problems can arise.

Dr. Meera Pathak further said, “The child in the womb may face problems due to exposure to pollution. In such a situation, the possibility of early delivery increases to a great extent. In this, there is a possibility of the woman having ADHD and autism spectrum disorder along with lung related problems.

Suggesting ways for women to avoid this increasing pollution, the doctor said, “In case of smog, women should avoid leaving the house as much as possible.” If it is still necessary to go out, then leave the house only wearing a better quality mask. In such a situation, air purifier can also be used at home.

Along with this, he said that pregnant women must consume things that increase immunity. Be sure to include food rich in nutrients in your diet.
