This Hyundai car passed the NCAP crash test with 5-star safety rating, both adults and children get full guarantee of safety.
Car News Desk – Hyundai's 5-seater Tucson has been included in the list of the safest cars in the country. In fact, this SUV has achieved 5-star safety rating in India NCAP crash test. Tucson becomes the second vehicle in HMIL's portfolio to score 5-stars after Hyundai Venue got 5-stars in Global NCAP crash test. The Hyundai Tucson tested by India NCAP was the 2.0-litre petrol AT Signature model, a 2-row 5-seater SUV with a curb weight of 1828 kg. This SUV got 5-star scores for both adults and children.
The tested model of Hyundai Tucson was equipped with front, side and curtain airbags for safety as well as 3-point seatbelts for all passengers with seatbelt reminder. Seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters were also part of the standard safety kit. The Tucson also has ISOFIX child seat mounts on the outboard seats for child seat installation.
Hyundai Tucson showcased at India NCAP
In safety testing conducted by India NCAP, the Hyundai Tucson scored 30.84 out of 32 for adult occupant protection. The Tucson scored 14.84 out of 16 points for the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 16 out of 16 points for the side movable deformable barrier test. Thus, with 30.84 points, Tucson scored 5 stars in adult passenger safety. On the other hand, in terms of child occupant safety, India NCAP gives a total of 49 points. Hyundai Tucson scored 42 out of 49 points and 5 stars in child occupant protection. The Tucson scored 24 out of 24 in the Dynamic Score, 12 out of 12 in the CRS Installation Score, and 5 out of 13 in the Vehicle Evaluation Score.
Hyundai Tucson Engine and Performance
The starting ex-showroom price of Hyundai Tucson in the Indian market is Rs 29.02 lakh. At the same time, its ex-showroom price for the top model goes up to Rs 35.94 lakh. It can be purchased in two trim levels, which include Platinum and Signature. It has two powertrain options. The first is 2.0 liter petrol and the second is 2.0 liter diesel engine. The 2.0 liter petrol generates maximum power of 154 bhp and maximum torque of 192 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. At the same time, the 2.0 liter diesel engine generates power of 184 bhp and torque of 416 Nm, which is mated to 8-speed automatic gearbox.
