Bathua ka saag keeps the body warm in winter, the recipe is very easy
As soon as the winter season arrives, many types of vegetables arrive, which are very beneficial for your health. One of these is Bathua Ka Saag which has not just one but many benefits. You must have made Bathua ka Saag or its Raita, but have you ever eaten Smokey Bathua Raita? During cold days, it is very enjoyable to eat it with hot millet, corn or wheat roti. Material
- Bathua – 100 grams
- Curd- 200 grams
- Whole cumin – 1 tsp
- Cumin powder- 1 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
- Black and white salt- as per taste
- Ghee- 2 spoons
- Asafoetida- 1 pinch
- Coal- 1 piece
Method of preparation
1. First of all, take out the Bathua leaves and wash them thoroughly.
2. Now put the clean duck in the cooker and add some salt and water and boil it.
3. Boil it for about 3-4 whistles and turn off the gas.
4. After steam comes out of the cooker, open it and take it out in a steel strainer.
5. After it cools down a bit, put the bathua in the mixer and make a fine paste.
6. Now take curd in a vessel and beat it well.
7. After this add cumin, red chilli powder and salt and mix.
8. Now add ground Bathua to it and mix it well with a hand blender.
9. Now put a frying pan on the gas and add two spoons of ghee in it.
10. When the ghee is hot, add cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida and fry a little.
11. Now add this mixture directly to the raita and mix well.
12. Use charcoal to give raita a smoky flavour.
13. After burning well, keep this coal in a small plate.
14. Now place this plate inside the raita and put ghee in the coal on top.
15. After this, when smoke starts coming out from it, cover it with the help of a big plate.
16. When you open this raita after some time, it will have a smoky flavor.
17. Now your raita is ready, you can serve it with any roti.
