There is great news for the women of Delhi. Chief Minister Atishi last week announced 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana', under which women living in Delhi will be given financial assistance of Rs 1,000 every month. This scheme was introduced by the Delhi government in the budget of March 2024. Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections 2025, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has promised that if the Aam Aadmi Party comes to power again, the amount given under the scheme will be increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,100 monthly. However, registration under the scheme will begin within the next 10 days.

When will the registration start?

Chief Minister Atishi told in a press conference on December 13, 2024 that registration for the scheme will start in the next 7-10 days. The entire process of applying will be online and will be made available on the Delhi Government e-District website. This website is already providing services like old age pension, widow pension and disability pension.

Who can apply?

To get benefits under this scheme, women will have to fulfill these conditions. The woman must be a resident of Delhi and must have a Voter ID card with a Delhi address. The female must be 18 years or older on or before December 12, 2024. Women between 18 to 60 years can be beneficiaries of this scheme.

These documents will be needed

Women must have the following documents to apply.

Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card with Delhi address, PAN Card, Birth Certificate or High School Certificate to prove age.

Who cannot apply?

The Chief Minister has clearly said that all women can get the benefit of this scheme. But women falling in the below mentioned categories cannot avail its benefits.

Women who are already benefiting from social security schemes (old age pension, widow pension, disability pension) of Delhi Government.

Women who have paid income tax in the last financial year.

Central, state or local government employees (present and former), and former women representatives (e.g. MPs, MLAs).

When will you get pension?

Chief Minister Atishi said that the Election Commission will release funds to the beneficiaries under the scheme only on the basis of the announcement of the dates of Delhi Elections 2025. He expressed hope that by March 31, 2025, the beneficiaries will get at least one or two installments.
