Auto News Desk – The 21st EV Expo has started at Pragati Maidan. The program is being organized in Hall No. 1 and 2. It also celebrates the completion of 10 years of this event. A day earlier, the sustainability of the electric vehicle (EV) industry was discussed at the 8th Catalyst Conference organized as part of the event. The conference was organized in collaboration with the International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) and was attended by representatives from the EV industry, officials from regulatory bodies and entrepreneurs. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the conference through video link from Nagpur. Shri Gadkari urged the EV industry representatives to take advantage of this time to increase EV production tenfold both domestically and internationally. The expo was inaugurated by Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Corporate Affairs. Lauding the EV Expo, he said that it is a great platform for all stakeholders of the EV industry to come together and promote sustainable transportation. He also expressed happiness over the presence of e-tractors in the program.
Highlights of EV Expo
Khalsa EV: Launched two L5 models (3+1 and 6+1) which offer a range of 203 kilometers on a single charge. This is the highest in this segment. Equipped with a 230AH-11.7 KWH battery, it features a 5-year battery warranty and IoT tracking. Its price is around Rs 4 lakh.
Citius: Launched several vehicles including e-tractors (Balraj ET 207 and ET 250). These LFP battery operated tractors of 20 HP and 50 HP give a range of 80-280 kilometers. Suitable for 2-5 tonne requirements. Also launched 2-wheeler, kitchen e-kart and 16-seater RTV.
Terra Motors (Japan): Launched D+3 L5 auto e-rickshaw with LFP battery, which gives a range of 150 km and a speed of 50-55 kmph. On-road price: ₹3.75 lakh, with loan option of ₹3 lakh. made in India.
Maxim E Vehicles (Haryana): Launched several including a two-wheeler suitable for the disabled, which gives a range of 80 kilometres. It is available with lead battery (₹65,000) or lithium battery (₹80,000). Also launched e-scooter and loader.
EVE Electric Bike (Sirsa): Vespa Prime Scooty launched, priced at ₹56,000 (with 1 year warranty). It offers a range of 50-60 kilometers and is also available with a lithium battery option (₹66,000).
Mercury EV Tech Ltd: Launched a pickup/loader vehicle called “Mushk”, which is equipped with hydraulic lift. It has a load capacity of 1,000 kg, range of 200 km and advanced utility features.
Some of the companies participating in this expo include BYD, Khalsa EV, Terra Motors, Citis, Lohia Auto, Udaan, Jeevan E-Bike, EVEY Electric Bike, Sundarak, Captech Eco-Green EV and Mercury EV Tech.
