Did the cricketer meet with a female officer in the hotel room? Sri Lanka Cricket asked for report

Cricket News Desk. Sri Lanka Cricket has sought a report from its national team manager into allegations of sexual misconduct involving an emerging player and a female member of the medical staff. Sri Lanka Cricket has been embroiled in controversy after a young spin bowling all-rounder was found with a female official in his hotel room, according to multiple local media reports.

Sri Lanka Cricket said that several media reports have stated that a member of the team playing the Test series against England has misbehaved with a member of the medical staff. Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement, “Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, we have asked team manager Asantha de Mel to report the incident so that the accuracy of the media reports can be confirmed.”

The second test between Sri Lanka and England will start from Friday i.e. today in Galle. Team coach Mickey Arthur said on Wednesday that such an incident is not possible because all the players live in a bio bubble.

The player against whom allegations have been made has already been a part of a Test match. The Sri Lankan team had to face a crushing defeat by 7 wickets in the first test.
