Special ICU ward prepared in government hospital in view of HMPV in Haryana
Panipat, January 10 (IANS). Haryana Health Department has issued instructions to all government hospitals in view of HMPV virus.
ICUs have been prepared in all the government hospitals of the state so that treatment starts as soon as possible if symptoms of this virus are found.
Panipat CMO Dr. Jayant Ahuja said that the HMPV virus has been identified from China. Currently, not many cases of this virus are being seen in India. The situation in Panipat is still normal.
Giving information about the virus, the CMO said that the symptoms of the virus start appearing when there is cough and cold. More symptoms are seen in children and the elderly. If children or the elderly are suffering from severe cough or cold or are ill for several days, then get them checked by a doctor immediately.
He said that instructions have been issued by the Health Department that there is no need to panic about this right now. The situation in Panipat is normal, no one is suffering from HMPV virus yet. If any patient suffering from the virus shows symptoms, then ICUs have been prepared for children and adults.
Let us tell you that cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) have been seen in many states of India. The government has also geared up for this. However, experts believe that there is no need to panic.
The government has asked all the states to exercise caution and vigilance regarding this virus. Different states of the country have issued alerts regarding this virus. Seven cases of HMPV have been reported so far in the country, including Karnataka (2), Gujarat (1) and Tamil Nadu (2). All cases were found in children aged 3 months to 13 years.
