Mandhana gave a great start to the team and made an important partnership of 70 runs for the first wicket with Pratika Rawal. Mandhana played a brilliant inning of 41 runs in 29 balls. During his innings, the Indian captain hit 6 fours and one six. Mandhana has left Mithali Raj behind in one particular matter.

Smriti Mandhana has become the fastest Indian batsman to complete 4000 runs in ODI in women's cricket. He achieved this feat in the 95th innings of his ODI career. Mandhana has broken Mithali Raj's record. Mithali achieved this feat in her 112th innings. Similarly, in men's cricket too, only Virat Kohli from India has completed 4,000 runs faster than Mandhana. Virat played 93 innings to complete 4,000 runs. Talking about world cricket, Meg Lanning and Belinda Clark have completed 4 thousand runs faster than Mandhana. Lanning achieved this feat in 87 innings while Clarke achieved it in only 86 innings.

Smriti Mandhana wreaked havoc with the bat in the first ODI against Ireland. Mandhana played a brilliant inning of 41 runs in 29 balls. Chasing the target of 239 runs, Mandhana along with Pratika Rawal gave a great start to India and added 70 runs in 9.6 overs for the first wicket. However, Mandhana could not convert the good start into a big innings. Harleen Deol was also out after scoring just 20 runs, while Jemimah Rodrigues was out after scoring just 9 runs. At the time of writing, Pratika is at the crease and has completed her half-century.
