Nokia's sack has been removed from India! Company's smartphones will not be sold in India including global market, know the reason

Tech News Desk – It appears that HMD Global has finally discontinued the Nokia brand of smartphones. Nokia branded smartphones have been declared discontinued i.e. 'closed forever' on the company's global and India websites. However, no official announcement has been made by HMD for this. In 2023, HMD launched Nokia XR21 in the global market under Nokia branding and the last smartphone to come with this branding in India was Nokia G42 5G, which was launched in September 2023.

HMD has created a separate dedicated page for Nokia brand smartphones on its global website, where all the available smartphones are marked 'discounted'. HMD has not yet openly announced the discontinuation of Nokia brand smartphones. Something similar has also been seen on HMD's India website, where the only Nokia G42 5G launched in the country has been listed on a separate microsite. Till the time of writing the news, the smartphone was visible 'discounted' here. However, this model was available for purchase on some major e-commerce platforms in India.

The Nokia G42 5G was the last smartphone launched under the Nokia branding in the country, which was introduced in March 2023. At the same time, Nokia XR21 was the last smartphone to come with this branding in the global market, which was launched in 2023. HMD now launches smartphones under its own brand name in India, which includes the Pulse, Skyline, Fusion and Crest series.

Nokia brand feature phones are still available for purchase on the global and India websites. However, in the recent past, HMD has also launched feature phones under its own brand name. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to speculate that the company may discontinue Nokia's feature phones in future.
