It is very easy to make moong dal mangoda. To make this, wash moong dal thoroughly and soak it overnight before Sankranti. Next morning, filter the dal water and then add ginger and green chillies to the dal and grind it well. Take out the smooth lentil paste in a vessel and then mix salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder in it and beat it well. Some green chillies can be chopped and added to it. Now let the oil heat well and then drop small lentil dumplings into the oil. Cook it well until it turns golden brown on both sides and then serve it with green chutney. In this way you can prepare simple and tasty dal magodi. If you want, you can add chopped onion to it for a different taste. Or like gram flour pakoda, you can make it by dipping potatoes, onions or cheese in dal. These also taste quite good.
