'Tell me how many captains have done this…', amidst criticism from all sides, Yuvraj Singh supported Gambhir-Rohit
Cricket News Desk. Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir are facing heavy criticism after the humiliating defeat on Australian soil. Recently, BCCI had also held a review meeting regarding the poor performance of the team. Rohit is being advised to leave the captaincy and retire. However, former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh has come out in support of Rohit and Gambhir. He said that Gambhir should be given some time as he has joined the Indian team very quickly. Regarding Rohit, Yuvraj said that the way he ruled himself out of the Sydney Test, hardly any captain had done this before.
Yuvraj supported Rohit and Gambhir
Speaking to PTI, Yuvraj Singh said, “Gautam Gambhir has just come into the team and he needs to be given some more time.” Rohit made us win the T20 World Cup and under his captaincy we reached the final of the ODI World Cup. Under his captaincy, Mumbai Indians won the IPL trophy five times. In the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar series, he dropped himself from the team so that someone else could get a chance, tell me how many captains have done this before? I have seen what Rohit has done in the last three to five years, nothing is decided by one tournament. For me, the defeat at home against New Zealand was even more disappointing.

Questions are being raised on Rohit's captaincy.
Questions are being raised on Rohit Sharma's captaincy. The Indian team had to face a 3-0 defeat against New Zealand at home. This was the first time in the history of Test cricket that a Kiwi team defeated India on its own soil. After this, Team India was seen struggling badly under the captaincy of Rohit on Australian soil also. The team faced defeat in the second and fourth tests, due to which the dream of winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the third consecutive time on Kangaroo soil remained unfulfilled.
