Sikh community protesting against 'Emergency' raised slogans against Kangana Ranaut
Mohali, January 17 (IANS). The Sikh community has now come out on the streets in protest over actress Kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency'. There is a demand to ban this film. The protesters say that an attempt has been made to defame the people of Sikh community through this film, which cannot be accepted at any cost. The protesters also raised slogans against the actress.
Protester Charanjit Singh told IANS, “Today, no person belonging to the Sikh community is safe anywhere and in this film, an attempt has been made to tarnish the image of the Sikh community, which we cannot tolerate. I would say that there is a conspiracy behind such films to defame the Sikh community in the whole world. Everyone knows that the history of the Sikh community has been full of pride, which some people are not able to tolerate. And they are conspiring to defame us. We will not let their nefarious plans be accomplished at any cost.”
He said that the Sikh community had written a letter to all the District Magistrates including the Chief Minister to ban this film. But, looking at the current situation, it seems that no steps have been taken in this direction yet. We would like to again emphasize the demand that this film be banned. There are some people who are unable to tolerate the rich history of the Sikh society and they are constantly trying to defame us.
At the same time, protester Ranjidar Singh said, “We are doing this demonstration so that actress Kangana Ranaut's film is banned. We had also submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrates in this regard recently. We are doing this demonstration so that We can convey our message to the government and administration. However, this film has been banned in many places in Punjab.”
Apart from this, he also targeted actress Kangana Ranaut. He said that Kangana Ranaut always gives statements against the Sikh community. The actress is trying to defame the Sikh community as part of a conspiracy. We had also demanded from the Central Government that this film should be banned.
Another person involved in the protest while talking to IANS said that this film has been brought with the aim of sowing the seeds of hatred. This film has been brought with the aim of defaming our society. In this regard, we have written a letter to the Central Government and the State Government demanding a ban on the film, so that the image of the Sikh community can be prevented from being tarnished. I appeal to the Punjab government to stop sowing the seeds of hatred in the society.
