Kalashekhar, who is regularly seen in Rohit Shetty's films, was also a part of his comedy film Golmaal 3, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arshad Warsi, Ajay Devgan and Shreyas Talpade in the lead roles. Kalaskar's character in Shetty's Singham Returns – journalist Meera – was based on popular journalist Barkha Dutt. Responding to this, Dutt had tweeted, “Guys, I haven't seen Singham Returns yet. So all your praises (and jokes!) have been in vain so far (smiling emoji). What a wait for the second character. Is it fair?”Singham Returns starred Devgan, Kapoor Khan and Mahesh Manjrekar.
