Now crores of Indians will be able to call even without network, Modi government has completed preparations for something better than satellite service.

Tech News Desk, Whether the phone is worth Rs 10 thousand or Rs 1 lakh, if the phone does not have the right network then both are of no use. Many times it happens that the network disappears completely but DoT has now started a special service after which you will be able to make calls even in the absence of mobile network. Yes, the company has started a new facility which is being called Intra Circle Roaming i.e. ICR. With the advent of this service, you can now make calls even if the network disappears. You can use this service on SIM cards of BSNL, Jio and Airtel, which can prove to be a life saver in emergency. Let us first know how ICR works…

How does ICR work?
Actually, if the ICR service mobile network disappears, the Jio customer will connect to other networks available nearby, like Airtel's network. The special thing is that you do not need to pay any extra money to use it. However, this service will not be available all the time, rather it will be started only in emergency by the Department of Telecommunications i.e. DoT.

Testing was done in 2024
Let us tell you that this service was tested during the storm in Tamil Nadu in 2024. When the local network was not working in the area affected by the storm, people made calls through ICR. This not only helped the local people but also provided relief to those who were traveling in Tamil Nadu at that time.

ICR Vs Satellite Service
The biggest difference between ICR and satellite service is price and accessibility. While satellite calling facility is quite expensive, ICR shares the network for free. Not only this, ICR uses the existing telecom network, so no new device or extra setup is required. ICR is specifically designed for emergencies and can be implemented more quickly than satellite service.
