  • Dal – 2 cups
  • Boiled Potatoes – 2
  • Finely chopped onion – 1-2
  • Finely chopped ginger – 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped green chillies – 2-3
  • Finely chopped coriander – 3 tablespoons
  • Cumin – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala – ½ tsp
  • Chaat Masala – ½ tsp
  • Cooking oil

Method:

1. To boil the cowpea:

  • First of all, wash the soaked cowpea with water and add some salt to the cooker.
  • Boil the cowpea until 2-3 whistles in the cooker. Keep in mind that the cowpea does not boil too much, that is that it becomes soft.
  • Remove the excess water of boiled cowpea and let it cool.

2. Preparing a mixture of cowpea:

  • Put boiled cowpea in a mixer and grind them coarsely. Keep in mind that do not make it like a paste, keep a little coarse so that there is a little texture in the kebab.
  • Now take out the ground lobby in a big pot.
  • Add finely chopped onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder and salt and mix well.
  • Add breadcrumbs to this mixture so that it can bind well. You can also use gram flour.
  • Keep the prepared mixture in the fridge for 15-20 minutes so that it is set and ease when making kebabs.

3. Creating kebabs:

  • Remove the mixture from the fridge and make small tablets by applying some oil in your hands and flatten them in the shape of kebabs.
  • Heat a non-stick griddle or pan and add some oil to it.
  • Keep the kebabs on the pan and bake on medium flame till it becomes golden and beauty from both sides. Keep turning from all sides so that the kebabs do not burn.

4. Serving:

Tips:

  • If the mixture becomes very soft, then add more breadbus or gram flour to it.
