Do not do this work in the month of Pausha

Due to Kharmas, doing auspicious works is considered prohibited in this month. According to astrology, doing auspicious work during this period does not yield good results. Functions like marriage, engagement, house warming, Mundan Sanskar, Janeu Sanskar, and starting of new business should be avoided.

Do not consume tamasic food. In religious texts, the month of Pausha has been described as a month of penance and virtuousness, hence it is necessary to pay attention to food and drink.

Do not consume meat and alcohol

This month one should stay away from meat, alcohol and any kind of intoxication. Also avoid Tamasic foods like garlic and onion. This disturbs the mind and hinders worship. During this period, do not consume radish, brinjal, urad dal, cauliflower, lentils, fried dishes and excessive sugar.

  • Donate blankets and warm clothes to the needy.
