Shahi Matar Onion: A Delicious Winter Dish
In winter, green pea curry is prepared in every house, but potatoes and peas can cause boredom. This winter, try a new dish made from peas: shahi matar onion. Ingredients for Shahi Matar Onion
– 2 onions
– 2 tomatoes
– 8-10 garlic cloves
– 2-3 green chillies
– piece of ginger
– Asafoetida
– Cumin
– Salt as per taste
– turmeric powder
– coriander powder
– chilli powder
– 2 spoons curd
– 1 cup peas
– 2 cups chopped onion
– Half spoon garam masala
– Fenugreek seeds
– Fresh coriander for garnishing
– Oil and Ghee
Shahi Matar Onion Recipe
To make Shahi Matar Onion, first put onion, tomato, green chilli, ginger and garlic in a mixer and make a paste. Then heat some oil and ghee in a pan, add asafoetida and cumin seeds in it. Now add salt, turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder to the prepared gravy and cook for 5-7 minutes.
After this, reduce the gas flame and add curd in it. Mix everything well and let it cook for 5 more minutes. Now add half cup hot water, peas, chopped onion, garam masala and kasoori methi. Mix everything well, cover and cook for about 10 minutes. Finally add green coriander and chopped green chillies. Serve hot vegetable with paratha or rice.
