Date Barfi Recipe

Date Barfi Recipe: The tradition of eating sweets in winter has been going on for centuries. Many types of sweet dishes are prepared in this season. Sweets are also made at home. Date Barfi is a sweet which is no less than halwa or laddu in taste and is also beneficial for health. Dates are naturally sweet and rich in fiber, iron, and potassium. In winter it provides warmth and freshness to the body. To make it, neither sugar, nor jaggery nor any artificial sweetener is required.

Method of preparation:
To make date barfi, first grind the dates coarsely in a mixer. Then fry the poppy seeds in a non-stick pan for 1-2 minutes and take them out.
Now heat 2 spoons of ghee in the same pan. Add chopped nuts and fry for 2 minutes. If coconut is to be added, add it and stir for 1 minute.

Now add ground dates and roasted poppy seeds (save 1 teaspoon for decoration).
Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously, until the mixture starts separating from the pan.
Switch off the gas, spread the mixture in a greased plate or wrap it in a roll in aluminum foil.
Sprinkle remaining poppy seeds and pistachios on top.
Keep in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. When it cools down, cut it into desired shapes.
So your date barfi is ready. You can eat it by keeping it in an air tight container for 8-10 days.
