How to make Murabba

  • Wash the apples selected for making marmalade thoroughly. Then peel them finely.

  • Apples contain iron, which can change their color after peeling. Therefore, as soon as you peel them, put them in 0.5% potassium metabisulfite solution.

  • After this, wash the apples in clean water and soak them overnight in a solution of 1.50% calcium chloride and 0.2% potassium metabisulfite. Next day, take them out and wash them again in water.

  • Boil water in a vessel. When the water starts boiling, put the apples in it for 7 to 10 minutes and then take them out and put them in cold water.

  • After putting the apples in cold water, mash them with a fork. Now make syrup by mixing sugar and water and add citric acid in it. When the syrup is ready, filter it and pour it into the apples and heat it again.

  • Let the syrup cook on low flame. When it thickens, let it cool and leave it overnight. Reheat again the next day and let cool overnight.
