Sony Pictures Networks India will bring ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced that it will bring ‘Wheel of Fortune’ to India. This show will be hosted by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. The program will air on linear TV and digital platform SonyLIV. The purpose of this cross-screen strategy is to provide brands with an opportunity to present a consistent story that is memorable to the audience. ‘Wheel of Fortune’ is not just a show, but will provide a new direction in content and brand integration, combining the power of global IP, star-hosted game shows and interactive plays on Sony LIV. Highgate Entertainment has licensed the format to Sony Pictures Networks India, while Frames Production Company is producing the Indian version.

Akshay Kumar announces to host the show

The announcement poster of the show was shared on Sony TV’s Instagram handle, which read, “The world’s most popular TV game show is coming to India. #WheelOfFortune – Hosted by @akshaykumar, only on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.”

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming projects

Talking about Akshay Kumar’s work front, he recently worked with Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla in the courtroom comedy drama, Jolly LLB 3. He also has several other projects in the pipeline, including Bhoot Bangla and Hera Pheri 3. Bhoot Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, will release on April 2, 2026, starring Vamika Gabbi in the lead role.
