Delhi government’s free saplings scheme: Know how to avail benefits
Golden opportunity to spread greenery
If you are interested in increasing greenery in your home, balcony or nearby, then this information can be extremely useful for you. At present, people want to plant trees, but the expensive plants available in nurseries sometimes affect the budget. Addressing this problem, the Delhi government has started a special initiative, under which saplings are being provided to the common citizens without any charges.
Facility to get free saplings from government nursery
Plants not only enhance the beauty of the house but also play an important role in keeping the environment pure. Lush plants transmit positive energy and also provide mental peace. Taking this thinking forward, the Delhi government has started a scheme to provide free saplings through a government nursery. Its objective is to motivate more and more people to plant trees.
Nursery location and accessibility
This nursery is located near Delhi’s famous West to Wonder Park, making it very easy to reach. Those traveling by metro can alight at Hazrat Nizamuddin metro station, while for those traveling by bus, Sarai Kale Khan Bus Terminal is the nearest point. It does not take much time to reach the nursery from here.
Process to get free plants
The process of getting free plants is very simple. It does not require any complicated formalities or online registration. You only need to bring a valid identity proof like Aadhar Card, Voter ID or Driving License. A maximum of 10 saplings are given on one identity card. If multiple people from family or friends come with different IDs, the number of plants can be increased further.
plant diversity
A wide variety of plants are available in this nursery. Small, medium and large sized plants, flowering plants, ornamental plants and many types of medicinal plants are also found here. You can select the plants as per your need and choice.
A step towards environmental protection
This initiative of Delhi Government has been started keeping in mind the increasing pollution and decreasing greenery. The government wants people to plant more and more trees in their homes, roads and surrounding areas. This will not only improve the air quality but will also help in controlling the temperature of the city and reducing the stress of the people. This step is being considered a commendable effort towards environmental protection.
